City Bar Justice Center: Immigrant Women and Children Project (IWC)
Description of Services
The Immigrant Women and Children Project began in the spring of 1996. We offer free legal assistance to immigrant survivors of violent crimes, including domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and human trafficking. Volunteer attorneys assist clients with the preparation of immigration applications, including special immigration relief under the Violence Against Women Act through self-petitions and battered spouse waivers. We also assist applicants with U & T visas, for those survivors of violent crimes who cooperated with law enforcement.
