Description of Services
The Human Trafficking Victim Services Program provides culturally competent services to trafficking victims in the 8 counties of Western New York. IIB’s Victim Services Department assists foreign victims with: (1) Shelter; (2) Safety planning; (3) Food, clothing, basic necessities; (4) Referrals to medical assistance, legal services, counseling, ESL classes; (5) Transportation; (6) Interpretation/translation. The Program also: (1) Strengthens cooperation between law enforcement and services providers; (2) Enhances prosecution of trafficking cases; (3) Trains services providers to recognize and report signs of potential human trafficking and provide appropriate assistance to victims; (4) Educates the public to recognize and report signs of potential human trafficking.
